Even Napleon dreamed of a tunnel under the Channel to beat the Britains. It was the railway who fulfilled this dream.

After the French and British decision of 1981 to build the tunnel, the works to build the Euro Tunnel began in 1987. After the tunnel works were finished in 1991 and the last technical works were finished in 1993 the first Euro Star train could transport passengers under the sea on Novembre 14th 1994.

The Euro Star is a train consisting of two classes and equipped with two bar wagons. It can offer much comfort. It is also on a high technical level, not only because it can drive on three energy networks.

The Eurostar circulates from London-Waterloo to Paris-Nord and to Brussel-Zuid. Its highest velocity is 300 km/h.
